Skills Gained
As a leisure or commercial user, your navigational abilities and confidence will enable you to undertake long passages perhaps over many days and nights. Vessels can range from those included in the National Powerboat Scheme and the Motor Cruising Scheme where crew and passengers live aboard and a wide range of commercial passenger vessels, workboats and other vessels.
Opportunities
The ability to go forward with sufficient sea time and miles for an examination to obtain an MCA commercial license valid for use on many types of passenger carrying and other commercial vessels operating under MCA codes of practise to work in the marine industry. The Yachtmaster Practical (contact for more info) certificate can be converted into an International Certificate of Competence (ICC). The ability with necessary sea time and miles to enter for a MCA Large Yacht qualification such as Officer of the Watch or Master 300.
