Why guests love this trip

You’ll travel further along the River Clyde to the impressive Erskine Bridge and back - a scenic, extended adventure that shows you more of Glasgow’s industrial heritage and open river landscape.

Wildlife spotting

As you head towards the Erskine Bridge, keep an eye out for seals along quieter stretches of the river. You may also spot cormorants, herons, salmon, and other local wildlife during your journey. 🦭

Restrictions

The Erskine Bridge Express is our longest and most adventurous RIB trip on the River Clyde, travelling further west towards the Erskine Bridge. This section of the river can become significantly more choppy than the sheltered areas closer to Glasgow, particularly when the wind is against the tide. This can create larger waves, stronger movement and greater impact through the boat.

For this reason, the Erskine Bridge Express has more specific medical and physical requirements than our shorter Clyde trips.

Minimum numbers (weight-based):

To keep the boat running safely and performing at its best in these conditions, we require a minimum load equivalent to 6 adults. Children count as half an adult (2 children = 1 adult).

Bookings below this threshold may not operate and will need to be rescheduled. We will let you know in advance.

Medical & Physical Requirements

This trip is not suitable for passengers who:

  • are pregnant;

  • have a significant back, spinal, neck, hip or knee condition, injury or previous surgery;

  • have a brain or neurological condition that could affect balance, coordination, awareness or their ability to respond safely;

  • have a recent injury, fracture or surgery that could be aggravated by impact;

  • cannot maintain an upright seated position, hold the handholds and keep both feet on the deck.

Minimum age/height: 8 years or 1.2m. The skipper may impose additional restrictions depending on the passenger and conditions.

If you are unsure whether a medical condition, injury or physical limitation is suitable for this trip, please contact us before booking. The skipper has the final decision on whether a passenger can safely travel.
