Next to Riverside Museum & Tall Ship. Easily accessible by walking, cycling, car, bus, train, and subway.

Course Timings
Start Time
The course will start at 0900 on both days. Please arrive on time.
Lunch Time
We usually take 30 minutes for a lunch break. You are welcome to use our kitchen to heat your food. We have a Kettle, Microwave, Small oven, and utensils. You can also head out to the museum for lunch, or pop across to the bakeries in Govan.
Finish Time
The course should finish at 1700 on day 2, however we may finish earlier or later depending on your progress. Please let us know if you need flexibility with timings and we can work around you.
FAQs
You may experience some spray depending on conditions, but generally you’ll stay dry unless it’s raining.
Wear warm, comfortable clothing suitable for the weather, including waterproofs. Conditions can change quickly on the water. We do not provide clothing.
The course is mainly practical, with time spent on the water learning by doing, supported by some short theory sessions. 30% classroom with 70% on the water.

For most people the Powerboat Level 2 is enough to make you a proficient and confident boat handler. Some people progress to the Intermediate Powerboat course where you would plan and undertake a passage on the river Clyde, giving you the experience required to go further.
Yes! Powerboat Level 2 is designed to give you the skills and confidence to operate a powerboat independently in suitable conditions.
Absolutely. We are here to help and guide you to become confident on the water. This course does not require any previous experience, so get stuck in.
What to Do After RYA Powerboat Level 2
We are Glasgow's leading boat trip operator. Build your way up the RYA ladder, get some experience, and one day you could skipper trips just like this.
Course Details
On this 2 day course you'll learn in depth boat handling, as well as safety and navigations skills required to be an accomplished powerboat driver. Subjects covered include: driving at higher speed, more difficult slow manoeuvres, collision regulations and chart-work.

Why this course?
The aim is learn or improve boat handling and seamanship in powerboats, so that you can demonstrate good skills and feel very confident in driving a variety of powerboats, venturing out on exhilarating daytime passages in inland and coastal waters.
Although the syllabus has detailed content, making good progress through the course is truly rewarding! The course may be conducted in a variety of boat types, both planing and displacement.

What to bring
Appropriate clothing: Weather conditions on the water can change quickly. Please bring warm, waterproof clothing to stay comfortable. We do not provide clothing.
